This webinar will address important legislation affecting the construction industry and FCAI Members for 2017. As all of us are aware by now, the state of Illinois is in financial crisis. House Speaker Michael Madigan and Governor Rauner have been at a deadlock on creating a balanced budget, with Rauner saying he will not sign off on a budget unless the legislature approves pro-business, anti-union reforms that the governor said would improve the state’s economy.
By attending this webinar, listeners will learn more about the budget impasse, the Senate’s proposed “Grand Bargain” and other legislation that affects a contractor’s business. Listeners are encouraged to ask questions.
As the webinar gets closer, specific bill numbers and more information will be revealed as to what will be on IMSCA’s “watch list” for 2017.
There is no cost to participate.
Following the FCAI communication dated June 29, 2016, the District Council has proposed an option that will save employers about $0.70 per hour, by putting the bulk of the $4.50 differential into the employees tax-free MRA account instead of on the check. The attached document explains in detail this option of payment for the differential for contractors who take DC #30 members to work in DC #14 jurisdiction.
