WEBINAR: Multi-Employer Worksite Violations & OSHA General Duty Clause

/Portals/0/NADevEventsImages/Multi Worksite Violations Webinar - Flyer_180.jpg

Time:   10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Topic:   Multi-Employer Worksite Violations & OSHA General Duty Clause

Presenter:   Mark Lies, II, Partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP

This webinar will address the importance of recognizing safety hazards on multi-employer jobsites, who is the liable party if there is a violation, and how contractors can help protect themselves against being liable both at the jobsite and in the office.

The OSHA General Duty Clause is a liability “catch-all” that allows OSHA to cite employers who fail to keep their places of employment free of any other recognized hazards to employees that are likely to cause injury or death. This clause can be difficult for contractors, as many are often unaware of what recognized hazards they may be required to address in their workplaces. This webinar will cover the employer’s responsibilities as it pertains to the General Duty Clause.

Topics to be Discussed:

Multi-Employer Worksite Violations

  • Ways you may be liable at a multi-employer worksite
  • Minimizing legal liability
  • When OSHA issues multi-employer citations
  • How to establish can you be liable?
  • When does OSHA make an employee your responsibility?
  • Recordkeeping conundrums

OSHA’s General Duty Clause

  • What is the General Duty Clause
  • “Recognized Hazards”
  • Employers responsibilities
  • Recommendations to avoid General Duty Clause citations

There is no cost to participate.

About the Presenter:
