Listen to Special Guest Speaker Cindy Byrd discuss "Your Brand is Your Impact"

Join the Central Chapter for their Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, February 19, at Jonah’s Seafood in East Peoria. 

The election for 2019 Council Members will take place during this meeting. To be considered for a Central Chapter Council Member position, the contractor member must be an employer in “good standing” and current with all the funds. Both Contractor and Associate member must have their office located within the boundaries of “Zone C” to be eligible to serve on the council. The Contractor Council Member position is a three-year term. The Associate Council Member is a one-year term. Nominations for either position must be sent to Jami Fischer at jfischer@mic123.com or Dennis Dragoo at dragoopt@mtco.com by February 15.

The special guest speaker of the evening will be Cindy Byrd, Founder of Image Potential Training and Consulting. The topic of her discussion will be “Your Brand is Your Impact.” In this upbeat and informative presentation, she will reveal how people respond to how you show up, the tone you set, your consideration for others, and whether you demonstrate the values you say are important to you. Cindy shares tips for being more mindful and intentional about your personal brand in order to create distinction, enhance the experiences people have with you, and lead a more integrated and impactful life.

Join FCAI for their Annual Membership Meeting on February 21, at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Naperville! The special guest speaker of the evening will be Kris ‘Tanto’ Paronto.

About Kris ‘Tanto’ Paronto: “Tanto” as he is affectionately known in security contracting circles - is a former Army Ranger from 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment and private security contractor who has deployed throughout the world. He also worked with the US Government’s Global Response Staff conducting low profile security in high threat environments throughout the world.

Mr. Paronto was part of the CIA annex security team that responded to the terrorist attack on the US Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, September 11th, 2012, helping to save over 20 lives while fighting off terrorists from the CIA Annex for over 13 hours. Mr. Paronto’s story is told in the book “13 Hours” written by Mitchell Zuckoff and his five surviving annex security team members and was later adapted into the blockbuster film by Michael Bay titled 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. 

Mr. Paronto has been involved in security operations in hostile environments for over 10 years. He is a proven leader, teammate, and friend to those who have deployed with him.

The Central Chapter will be hosting their March General Membership Meeting in Bloomington on Tuesday, March 26, at the DESTIHL Brewery. The special guest speaker of the evening will be Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner, who will discuss the city’s current construction climate.

About Tari Renner:
Tari Renner was elected Mayor in April of 2013 and was sworn into office on May 1, 2013. His previous service as an elected official includes three terms on the McLean County Board representing District 8 (1998-2010).

Tari Renner is currently a Political Science Professor at Illinois Wesleyan University. Dr. Renner was hired as Chair of the Department in 1994. Tari Renner has also served on the faculty of Duquesne University and Washington College.

From 1986 until 1988, Renner was the Director of Research for the International City/County Management Association. His research interests have focused upon local government policy-making structures and American elections. 

Dr. Renner received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from American University. His B.A. in Political Science is from the University of South Florida. Tari Renner was born in Miami Beach, Florida. He is the proud father of two sons, Max and Alex Renner.
